Sharma has a Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry) degree from Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University. He got through the exam in the second attempt.
“I am very happy. My success is the result of hard work and the blessings of my teachers and my mother,” Sharma told PTI over the phone.
Munish has a Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry) degree from the Delhi University and an MBA degree from Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute. This was his second attempt at UPSC. “Civil Service was my true calling. I just want to give my best to the country,” he said. Munish, a resident of Harinagar, prepared for the exam while he worked at KPMG.
He opted Law as the optional paper in UPSC Mains exams and got 134 and 117 numbers in both papers out of maximum 250 marks in each.
Mr. Sharma started his preparation in an early stage of life, he began his preparation when he was in the sixth standard because of his early love for civil services. But, later he gave a break to his preparation as after graduation and MBA, he worked for 5 years in the private sector.
Munish Sharma took two attempts to become IAS with Rank 2 in civil services examination.
In the same year, Gaurav Agarwal has become the first male in the last four years to top the UPSC. He holds Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science) degree from IIT-Kanpur and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Lucknow.
