IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services, it is India’s most desirable career choice among students. UPSC conducts Civil Services Exams every year to select civil servants for All India Services (IAS, IPS, IFoS), Central Civil Services, Group A Gazette and Group B Gazette officers. All these civil servants are either appointed by President of India or President ordered authority. Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions is cadre controlling authority of IAS officers.
